Type 79 Main Battle Tank
The Type 79 Medium Main Battle Tank is equipped with 105mm rifle guns and is equipped with fire control technology imported from Marconi. Tanks have been greatly improved in firepower, fire control system, special protection, communications, and anti-secondary killing effect. They are the advanced Chinese tanks in service in the mid-1980s, and the first battle tank in China to integrate a large number of Western tank technology. At the beginning of the development of Type 79 medium-sized tank, it was codenamed Type 69-3. In 1981, it was converted into a successful prototype and two formal prototypes were produced in 1983. In 1984, the first batch of production, in January 1986, the National Military Products Formulation Committee approved the design finalization, and officially named "79 type medium tank".
