Three main stealth fighter jets unveiled at the Zhuhai Air Show on the same stage
With the arrival of the J-35A, J-20, and Su-57 stealth fighter jets in Zhuhai, the debut of the three stealth fighter jets from China and Russia on the same stage will become one of the biggest highlights of this year's air show.
On November 5th, Colonel Niu Wenbo of the Air Force Equipment Department introduced at a press conference that during the 15th China Air Show, the medium-sized stealth multi-purpose fighter J-35A will also have the opportunity to meet everyone, and the mysterious J-35 fighter will be officially announced.
The public release of the J-35A means that the Chinese Air Force has become the second country in the world, after the US Air Force equipped with the F-22 and F-35, to simultaneously equip two stealth fighter jets. Military expert Wang Mingzhi stated that this is a significant achievement made by the People's Air Force in equipment construction. The addition of stealth aircraft to the Air Force's equipment series marks that the main equipment of the Chinese Air Force has further accelerated its transformation towards stealth.
In addition to the J-35A, the J-20, a star stealth fighter that has appeared multiple times at air shows, will also make another appearance at the China Air Show. On November 8th, four J-20s appeared over Zhuhai Jinwan Airport and underwent their first site adaptation training.
The J-20 is the first manned stealth fighter equipped in China, and the prototype made its maiden flight in 2011. In November 2016, the J-20 fighter jet made its public debut at the 11th China Air Show. In 2017, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense officially announced that the J-20 had been delivered in bulk to the military.
The Russian Su-57 stealth fighter jet, which made its debut in China, has also attracted much attention. The Su-57 fighter jet is the first stealth fighter equipped by the Russian Aerospace Forces, and its prototype T-50 successfully made its maiden flight in January 2010. The first mass-produced Su-57 fighter jet was officially launched in 2020. It is worth mentioning that the Su-57 has already participated in actual combat. In May 2022, the Russian media said that the Russian army had used Su-57 fighters in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
